Thomas Bills, MD, PhD

Thomas K. Bills, MD, PhD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in adult reconstructive surgery and general orthopaedics. Dr. Bills is one of the founders of Mercer Bucks Orthopaedics.

Dr. Bills grew up in Trenton, NJ and earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Syracuse University in 1972. He then moved to Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia to complete a PhD in Pharmacology in 1977 and an MD in 1980 from Jefferson Medical College. He received advanced training in Pediatric Orthopedics at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia; Trauma at Robert Wood Johnson Trauma Center; Joint Replacement at the Hospital for Special Surgery; Osteoporosis at Cornell Medical School and Bone Tumor at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Dr. Bills is an active staff member of Capital Health Systems and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He is an associate staff member at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA; active attending staff at Lawrence Rehabilitation Center in Lawrenceville, NJ; research staff as a visiting scientist at The Hospital for Special Surgery in the Department of Orthopaedic Research at Cornell Medical School in New York, NY; and consulting staff physician at the Metabolic Bone Disease Service and Osteoporosis Center in the Hospital for Special Surgery at Cornell Medical School in New York City.

Dr. Bills' professional work is supported by the multiple honors and awards he has earned, his membership in a variety of professional organizations, and an extensive bibliography and speaking engagement history. He lives in Titusville, NJ with his wife and has one son and two daughters.
