Robotic Surgery
The use of technology has increased in orthopaedic surgery, much as it has in the rest of our lives. One exciting form of technology is robotic assisted surgery for joint replacement. Unlike other types of robotics, this is not the use of independent robots- your surgeon is still the one performing the surgery- but the use of robotic assistance in the operating room. Robotic assistance enables your surgeon to be more accurate when compared to traditional techniques for joint replacement surgery, and has the potential to improve surgical outcomes and decrease complications both during and after the surgery.
Robotic assisted surgery is currently available for partial knee replacement, total knee replacement and total hip replacement. All of the joint replacement surgeons at Mercer Bucks Orthopaedics are experienced in the use of robotics for these surgeries. Feel free to make an appointment and come in to learn more about how robotic assisted surgery may be beneficial for you!
